Major General (Rtd) Johan Jooste joined the South African Army in 1971. He stayed on for 35 years ending his career as Deputy Chief of the Army. Along the way he commanded 54Bn, 201/31 Bn, 8SAI, Army Gymnasium, and Group 29. He then worked for BAE Land Systems before taking over the anti-poaching efforts in the Kruger National Park with great success. He is the co-author of "Rhino War" - the must read book on the subject. In this episode we talk of his life in the military as well as countering Rhino poaching.
