The youngest person to be executed in the US
George Stinney was the youngest person to be executed in the United States in the twentieth century.
He was only 14 years old when he was executed by the electric chair.
George was accused of killing two white girls whose bodies were found near his family's home
His trial lasted only two hours, the jury was entirely white, and the sentence was decided ten minutes after conviction.
He was electrocuted with an electric current of 5380 volts, and that was in the late twenties of the last century.
After 70 years of the incident, a South Carolina judge was able to prove the innocence of the child, as the two girls were killed by a tool that weighed more than 19 pounds, and that it was impossible for a child of his age to be able to lift and use it.
Writer Stephen King was inspired by this incident, a story called Green Mile, which was turned into a movie in 1999.
