Faros

The picturesque village of Faros on the southeast shore is considered one of the safest harbors on Sifnos Island in the Greek Cyclades. Residents live mostly by fishing and entertaining the few tourists who journey from the more populated parts of this island. Many hike to the large Chrissopigi monastery on a well maintained stone path that follows the hillside to the west of the harbor. A few windsurf or kayak in the bay. Feral cats abound in the small village.
