Jai Mahal - Invisívelman

Jai Mahal is a broadcaster, singer and songwriter. He was one of the forerunners of the São Paulo reggae scene and is a great promoter of the style on the radio. He started his career in reggae in the 70s, aged 16.

His first foray into music was in 1978, alongside Nando Reis, Vange Leonel, Cao Hambúrguer and Paulo Monteiro, giving rise to the first generation of São Paulo reggae bands in the 1980s: Sinsemila, Pacíficos da Ilha and Nomad, who populated the Mambembe theater alongside hip hop people such as Thaíde & DJ Hum.

In 2014, Jai Mahal and Os Pacíficos da Ilha released the disc and DVD Invisívelman after 14 years in production. The disc features partnerships and participations by Arnaldo Antunes, Isaar, Lucio Maia (Zumbi Nation/Zulumbi), Osvaldinho da Cuíca. The mix is signed by Victor Rice (NY) and Buguinha Dub.
