But I am Poor and Needy

The purpose of this psalm is to bring to remembrance. Remembrance of what? God’s goodness. God’s mercy. The deliverance of God.
We have short attention spans and short memories. We too easily forget the goodness of God. We too easily get caught up in the day to day happenings. We too easily get entangled in the affairs of this world that we lose sight of what is truly important: Jesus Christ and not me. There is a lot to be concerned about in this world. There is a lot to think about in this world. There is a lot of darkness in this world. And the darkness seems to be winning sometimes, but that is because we lose sight of the endgame: in the end, Jesus Christ is the victor. Jesus Christ is the more than conqueror. Jesus Christ is All.
