(Freaky Friend Niles Thornburg) - "Gun of the Week."

Niles Thornburg served more than twenty years in the US Army, deploying to both Afghanistan and Iraq as an infantry platoon sergeant. His platoon was affectionately known as the “Bastard Platoon” where all the troublemakers found a home with Niles, who could turn any troublemaker into a future leader. Niles was stationed with the Rakkasans for most of his time in service, but also served in Ft. Jackson as a drill sergeant and overseas in Germany providing training for all the SPECOPS units across Europe. Niles has been awarded the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and the Schützenschnur.

Upon retiring from the military, Niles returned to his hometown of Winchester, Indiana and began to immediately make himself beloved with the elected officials, pointing out corruption and unethical doings in local government. (Twenty years under the UCMJ has made him particularly eager to have his voice heard in politics.) He is a staunch supporter of the Constitution and holds firm to his oath of service. After finding that the Republican party did not hold the same values as himself, Niles joined the Libertarian party in 2020.

In all things, Niles has the support of his wife, Kate (producer of "The Bastards of Politics") and his five children.

Niles appears, from time to time with the Bastards during their weekly episodes!
