Going Home for Christmas

Isaiah 9:6 says, For to us a child is born, to us a son is given.” During the busy Christmas season, it is always a joy to be able to go home and spend time with loved ones while celebrating the birth of our Savior. But did you know that in 1958, Dr. James Dobson almost missed his chance to go home for Christmas and survived a harrowing experience while serving in the National Guard? On today’s edition of Family Talk, Roger Marsh shares Dr. Dobson’s December newsletter which includes a heartfelt and almost unbelievable story of how he was able to make it home for Christmas in the midst of a blizzard.

About Today's Guest: Roger Marsh
Roger Marsh is a radio show host, ordained minister, and a published author. He completed his undergraduate studies in business administration at Cal State Fullerton, and business management at Azusa Pacific University. In 1983, Roger launched his radio career, adding network television responsibilities in October of 1992. Throughout his tenure, he has served in a variety of leadership roles in Christian radio, from station manager, to program director, to drive time host. Roger is the voice of Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk, serving as a co-host, and is host of his own broadcast, "The Bottom Line”, on KBRT, highlighting current events with a biblical worldview. He is also co-host of the National Crawford Roundtable, a podcast that provides an honest review of the events happening in our world, all from a biblical perspective. Roger has been blessed with two daughters, one son, two sons-in-law and several grandchildren. In addition to his work in the broadcast industry, he also serves as an assistant pastor at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Southern California, where he makes his home with his wife, Lisa.
