📌 Probable cause to search, on the other hand, arises when there are reasonable grounds to believe, “not that the owner of the property is suspected of a crime, but that there is reasonable cause to believe that the specific ‘things’ to be searched for and seized are located on the property to which entry is sought,” Zurcher v. Stanford Daily, 436 U.S. 547 (1978). and there is probable cause to believe the things sought are evidence of a crime. State v. Tamer, 475 So. 2d 918 (Fla. Dist. Ct. App. 3d Dist. 1985). In fact, the identity of the offender need not be known. State v. Warren, 301 S.E.2d 126 (N.C. Ct. App. 1983).
