USDT for a very long time has been thought of as a stable crypto currency that is pegged to the US dollar. However, a recent investigation by the Wall Street Journal reported that over 6 Billion Dollar's worth of Tether loans are allegedly not secured against any liquid assets or hard currency.
This puts the health of the stable coin in question because according to the Tether Holdings that is the company behind the Tether or USDT stable coin, published that Tether's assets and liabilities are almost equal and if it weren't for the price of the USDT, Tether would essentially be reliant on the 250 million dollar cushion it has against all its liabilities.
