GREAT COMMANDERS GOES DOWN WITH THEIR FORT THE FIRST TO FALL

The first Maginot line fort to fall to the German army in 1940 put up a most heroic fight, but even before the war broke out the flaws in the design of this fort was beginning to show.
Despite well stocked and supplied none survived this battle yet almost none were killed in battle by the German forces.
Some times we remember the great designs but sometimes we remember those who died there.
And for this reason this fort looks exactly the same today's it did in may 1940 join myself and Roger Cook in exploring this special place. Ouvrage la Ferte.
