Pro Teaches n00bs: Lesson 11: Superman vs Muhammad Ali

With the passing of Neal Adams it only makes sense to talk about about one of his greatest works! So I brought Bianca on to talk about not just Superman vs Muhammad Ali but the spiritual sequel/tribue in Harley's Little Black Book!

The 72-page book features Superman teaming up with the heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali to defeat an alien invasion of Earth, a story in which they are required to compete in a boxing match (without Superman's superpowers)

What makes this book so amazing is how much detail went into this. The cover alone is full of so many guest stars! Neal really put his heart into this and it respects everyone involved, especially Ali! The villains aren't stock either! They have an interesting reason to do this, and a good sense of honor (Among some of them anyway) But it's the artwork that shines most of all! It captures so much!

As for the Harley's Little Black Book issue. It's a condenced version that's reworked, with new artwork by Adams that either redraws or shrinks down some of his prior work. And the writing...we'll it's Palmiotti and Connor's harley quinn so you know it's going to be insane! But the craziest part is...they make it work!
