Can ivermectin cure cancer?

A number of people are claiming that ivermectin cures cancer. However, the people making this claim are not understanding the limitations of in vitro research. False cancer cure claims are particularly dangerous because often, by the time people realise that the claims are false, it's too late for them to use proven treatments.
