Weekend at Bernie’s - A Life Lesson in The Walking Dead

A guilty pleasure movie is a film that despite being kind of ok, or even bad, is somehow able to reach deep in the hearts of audiences and leave an impression that impacts society on a deeper level.

Not to be confused with a cult film, or a bad film you might just like, a guilty pleasure conveys a message not obvious while watching, leaving an unreliable impression that can only be discovered on further investigation.

Weekend at Bernie’s was released in 1989, and even though it’s agreed to be a pretty horrible film, the idea of a “Weekend at Bernie’s” is a universally understood concept of taking advantage of a dead person to have a good time.

The Life Lesson of Weekend at Bernie’s has to do with stories as old as human history, and the changing world of the 1980s.
