Parasite Eve on the PS1 - Sledgehammer Review

Game Review of Parasite Eve on the Playstation 1. In 1995 Japanese book author Hideaki Sena wrote a novel that carries the same name. A novel that was also made into a movie that was directed Masayuki Ochiai with an amazing soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi. The film flopped despite being a really good movie, but it was not the only adaptation to come out of the novel. In 1998 Squaresoft developed an unofficial sequel to the book that expands upon the lore. Heck, the events from the book are actually mentioned in the game and are part of the main motivation behind the antagonist's actions. I had lots more to say about the lore behind the game, but ultimately decided to stick to a time budget this time around!

The game is of course influenced by the Final Fantasy battle system, the aesthetics of Resident Evil, elements from the Alien franchise, and the main protagonist is heavily influenced by Bruce Willis's John Mcclane in Die Hard
