Menzies Research Centre Nick Cater says the idea to give up coal and gas in Australia is “crazy talk”.

“The idea you can give up coal and gas tomorrow and that things are all just run smoothly because we got tonnes of windmills and they’re putting in more transmission lines … it is just crazy talk,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Pita Panahi.

“Anybody who has looked at the Engineering requirements of this … it’s nuts.”
