This video builds upon the ultrasound observations of Achilles tendonitis muscles patterns by researchers at the Faculty of Physical Activity of the European University in Madrid (NCBI: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=Mart%C3%ADn-Llantino+PJ&cauthor_id=30844628).
We take their reports of which muscles are underused in Achilles sufferers, and which muscles are overused and apply this to observations from the Pilates mat class. Armed with this knowledge we show the exercises that rebalance the foot muscles and smooth the foot and ankle action. This will take the jarring and jolts off of the Achilles and give it a chance to heal.
