Hello everyone! Welcome back to Paw’s Affliction. In this video, I'm going to show you Mauka the Pit Bull Overcomes Dogfighting Past and Finds Forever Home with Loving Family

✔Rescue Story:
Mauka is a pit bull who was rescued from an illegal dogfighting ring by Cedartown Pet Rescue, Education & Sterilization (CARES). When rescuers arrived, Mauka was severely malnourished and covered in wounds from previous fights. She was taken in by CARES and given nutritious food and love for the first time. Mauka was diagnosed with Babesia, a treatable but expensive condition, but the rescue decided to go ahead with treatment because they believed her life mattered. After a year of treatment and care, Mauka found a loving forever home with six other dogs. The shelter was able to provide the necessary veterinary care for Mauka and other animals due to donations from generous people and the money they saved by receiving donated pet food. The Rescue Bank, a program of GreaterGood.org, helps provide food and other necessities to shelters like CARES to ensure that animals waiting for their forever homes have their basic needs met.
