In this video, I discuss Matt Odell's interview with Andrew Poelstra at Bitcoin Takeover 2022, in order to highlight important reasons why not all Bitcoin OGs are rich:

1) When something goes up 10x, the temptation to take profits can be difficult to resist.

2) Most Bitcoin devs were skeptical that Bitcoin could survive. They were close enough to the system to see its fragility.

3) It's usually wise to diversify your investments away from your job, so that you don't suffer if your company goes through an Enron event (you lose your job at the same time that your company stock and retirement portfolio go to zero)

Hodling appears easy to outsiders, but in reality it is so, so hard.
