Sunday Longplay - Super Duper Metroid (SNES ROM Hack)

This week on Sunday Longplay, 2023 kicks off with another ROM hack of my favorite video game of all time! What could be better than Super Metroid? How about Super Duper Metroid?

Super Duper Metroid uses Project Base 0.8.1's engine to its maximum potential to create a wide-open nonlinear experience that can be played in all sorts of different ways. There are also many built-in quality-of-life customizations, as well as a built-in mirror mode (which flips planet Zebes horizontally), as well as a built-in randomizer. I don't yet know this game well enough to do randomizers for it like I do with the OG Super Metroid, but I may add it to the rotation later on.

The end result is a ROM hack that every Super Metroid fan should play, up there with Ascent and Vitality as one of the greats.
