REVENGE For Second Drivers!
How second drivers took over F1!
In Formula 1, it's no secret that teams sometimes have to play favorites with their drivers.
Whether it's for points in the championships, to get ahead of the competition, or just to give the more deserving driver a chance to win, it's not uncommon for one driver to give up their position to their teammate.
But why does this happen, and who are the drivers that often play second fiddle? That's what we're diving into today.
It's no secret that not all F1 drivers are created equal, and sometimes teams have to decide which one to give the upper hand to in tough situations.
We've seen this play out numerous times in recent years, with perhaps the most notable example being Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas at Mercedes. Bottas often gave up wins or strong finishing positions to ensure that Hamilton had a chance to secure the championship with some races still to go.
Now that the 2023 grid is set, there are still some questions to be answered, including which drivers will be favored by their teams during race weekends.
Of course, this can vary from race to race, but it's still important to make predictions for the coming season and try to understand the roles of the new drivers within their teams.
That's why we've compiled a list to try and assign each driver a number 1 or number 2 role within their team. First up, we'll be looking at Red Bull Racing.
