In this video, I discuss the Jack Mallers/Strike announcement that they will be partnering with Shopify, Blackhawk, and NCR to enable merchants to accept payments over the Bitcoin Lightning Network.

This means that very soon you will be able to spend your Bitcoin anywhere, at grocery stores, restaurants, online, etc. You can already use it on any website built on the Shopify platform.

The Bitcoin and Lightning networks will continue to take market share from traditional fiat networks like the Visa network. Bitcoin is rapidly moving from being mostly a store of value to being a medium of exchange, on its way to becoming the new global reserve currency.

Merchants will pay much lower payment processing fees and get the settlement finality of cash, while users will get enhanced privacy and an easy way to spend their Bitcoin.
