It’s important to use the bitewing radiographs to really evaluate the level of the Karius lesion relative to the osseous crest, and to the pole. There’s no magic number, and unfortunately out of it it’s just experience and hence post in cases like this to try to figure out when to save and not when’s safe.
Sometimes I compare root canals to karate or kung fu or some sort of martial art, will you become really good at the martial art and you learn when not to use it. I know that’s a cheesy dad joke!
