As a result of the most recent winter storm that was threatening Northern California, families in the Placerville region had to contend with flooded streets, communities, and homes. After a powerful winter storm blew across Northern California, impressive levels of rain were reported in the Sacramento area, making it "one of the wettest New Year's Eves on record," according to the National Weather Service. The 24-hour period ending at 7 a.m. on Sunday saw 2.79 inches of rain fall in downtown Sacramento, 2.12 inches at Sacramento Executive Airport, and 1.89 inches at Sacramento International Airport. #flooding
