What Does Toxic Masculinity Mean?

Toxic masculinity. A lot of people talk about it, but what does it actually mean? There are some words that come to mind: aggression, physicality, providing. Some might say that a lot of what has made men men in the past, is now what is being targeted and used to look down on them today. Others might argue that these qualities aren't necessary in today's day and age, and that this idea of being tough needs to be removed in order to create a safer society. As a man, I'm biased. As a spectator, I'm a little worried. There's this Jordan Peterson quote that resonates well whenever I think of toxic masculinity. "And if you think tough men are dangerous, wait until you see what weak men are capable of."
