Law and Grace - Part 7

The lesson on January 8, 2023 was part 7 of the "Law & Grace" study.  We opened up by looking back at aspects of the Law that we might find are still active by observing them categorically and through the principles of right division.  We know that PAul said in 1 Timothy 1:8 "... that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully". With right division comes clarity.  In Ezekiel 36:24-27 gives a prophecy of when the New Covenant is operational.  Statutes and judgements written in their hearts by the Spirit of God. This has not happened yet but will be fulfilled.  We have an advantage over those who have not accepted the principle of right division.  In reviewing 1 Corinthians 9:19-21 (an Acts epistle) it is showing how Paul may "gain the more" so unto the Jews, he was a Jew.  With those under the law, Paul will use the law.  For those without the law, be without the law... Paul clarifies this and it does not mean lawless.  Clearly this shows that we have to categorize the law. We also looked at Matthew 5:17 KJV Jesus confirmed that he came not to destroy the law but to fulfil it. In Exodus 20:1-17, we see the ten commandments, put on two tables of stone.  Dividing the ten commandments into five on one tablet and five on the other. We looked at Leviticus 19:18-19. Matthew 5:43 where Jesus shows a spiritual depth of the weightier parts of the law. In Matthew 22:36-40 KJV Jesus is quoting from the second tablet of the ten commandments we learn that the moral law is intended to those that do criminal things. Exodus 21 KJV shows much of the Law being explained.  Do we do this today? This lesson set up the question to show how you can apply these correctly.

The scripture reading was from Ezekiel 36:26-27 KJV "26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."
