Steve Raymond Radio Personality & Program Director of 100.7 WZXL South Jersey's Rock Station

If you live in South Jersey, you have heard this man's voice. Steve Raymond has maned the helm at 100.7 WZXL South Jersey's Rock station for over 30 years producing quality radio programing. From being on the mic, to setting up the set lists, too ensuring the station is one of the most beloved in New Jersey. Some people are meant to do what they do. And Steve was meant to be on the radio! Like me, Steve is a immense fan of music and he too has met his idols in the music business. From the Eagles, Alice Cooper, Phil Regis Philbin, Dan Aykroyd, and I'm very jealous but happy to say AC/DC!!!

When I first started my journey into music 100.7 WZXL was the radio station I turned to. They played the most AC/DC, Live Wire often, and they had all the bands I was discovering. Zepplin, Judas Priest, Boston, and on. Steve was a very important figure to me for setting up the stage for when I would be on the radio. When I started at 89.1 WYBF I wanted to reach out to all my heroes in the field. Luckily enough Steve was more than gracious to accept my request for an interview. Circa 2016

This interview was recorded for learning purposes and for the school paper, but after all these years later listening back it truly is amazing. Not just to hear how green and nervous, I was but how Steve noticed it and led me along the interview. I vividly remember being in aww and marveling how everything came together for Steve. I left with a feeling that maybe I could go the distance in radio. Considering my career thus far has been pretty successful I can't help but feel that meeting did so much good.

Me and Steve have kept in touch throughout the years and he has always been generous with his wisdom, words of faith, and just being a great guy. So with that good Sir I say thank you. Your influence has taken me places I never thought to go.
