Nothing says adventure like a compass.  GPS is wonderful, but technology fails, and I am fairly certain the earth's magnetic field should stick around for some time to come.  These liquid filled Watchband Compasses by Type III Products are great.  Level them out, let the magic of magnets work, and Bam!  North.  These are not my first choice for calling for fire or if I was a cartographer...  But they will show you your cardinal directions quickly and are small and easy to read.  They can slide onto a watchband, be woven into a para-cord bracelet, or put onto a webbing strap.  And to top it all off, they come in a 4 pack and are from a veteran owned company.
