It's natural to care about what others think of us. After all, we are social creatures and our relationships with others are important to us. We are a species of team players by nature even if that seems like such a foreign concept for many in society these days. However, it is important to remember that ultimately, we are the ones who have to live with ourselves and our own thoughts and feelings.

Trying to live up to others' expectations or trying to conform to their ideas of who we should be can be exhausting and ultimately leaves you constantly feeling like you don't measure up. It can also prevent us from being true to ourselves whoch if you aren't real with YOU, than how will you ever really know who you are?

Other people's opinions of us are often based on their own subjective perspectives and experiences alongside what idea of us makes them feel more comfortable and at ease. Maybe less challengd or triggered even in their own skin. Their ideas of who we are may not accurately reflect who we really are or what we stand for, but if it's what they are comfortable with, it is what they will expect us to cater to. This in my opinion can be an extremely toxic trait to carry rather you are aware of it or not.

The most important thing is to be true to ourselves and to live in a way that is authentic to our own hearts and minds and aligns with our values, goals, wants and desires. To truly have that as a focus, means being able to let go of others' expectations and not allowing their opinions to dictate our choices or self-worth. Which can be a hard journey to start and stay on without boundaries and strength in demanding what you want for yourself above all else.

It is not always easy to let go of others' expectations, but it is an important step in finding our own path and living a fulfilling and meaningful life in the ways that feed your soul the most. I'm always here to help with keeping sight of that perspective in making peace within yourself, so you can walk in love better with others.
