The Kids Junior Backpack by Deuter, unlike most kids packs, is designed from the ground up for little ones.  There is plenty adjustment for children's small frames, and the internal volume isn't overlarge for them.  A great feature on this pack is the 4 D-rings up top.  It allows you to strap something across the pack if you need a little extra space, whether it be a jacket or in our case, a sleeping pad when we go backpacking.  The durability of this pack is great too.  After lots of backcountry trips and hiking with this pack, and over a year of daily use as a school backpack, it is still going strong.
