Sitting here in our room at Luxor waiting for my son's football games, feeling nostalgic, remembering how being a Sunnyvale kid and learning about how serious the Lion /mission city rivalry was,84' Lions we had Corky Garcia, rusty was on the Corsairs, we scrimmaged them at Wilcox, we got em of course, me rusty were locking horns a lot in that, next year we get Rusty, Corky was timed out 😁,now 85' jamboree against Morgan Hill, down 2-0 with 3 minutes left, our QB at the time couldn't get it done, Craig says Tony your QB, me knowing we have to keep the streak going and we ain't losing shit, did my Joe Montana impersonation , drop back, scramble, then throw bomb to Albert Benavides to the 20,then we pound it in finally to win 8-2...next week coach says I'm needed everywhere else, then brings Rusty up to speed and makes him our QB, pretty cool memories , oh then we get to play mission city in 85'....had to be a neutral site of course 😁, played em at old Campbell high I think, we stomped em good, remember Emmit Palacios blocking a punt and having his teeth go throw his lip in the process, and him saying I'm good I'm good let's go, great leader and example.
