The NBA Unicorn, as we all know, that term at one point was thrown around at every tall prospect that was able to dribble and make plays for themselves, be able to shoot, and also be able to block shots. Which in today’s NBA meta is a highly sought after skill set for 7 footers. But as more and more NBA prospects that come into the league with that tag flame out or just not live up to that potential, that label has not been used on incoming rookies anymore. Until now, because with the 7’4 Victor Wenbemyama from France coming into the league next year, and even being as touted as a better incoming prospect than Lebron James according to some, he is now reviving that word that some has been trying to get scouts to stop calling people, a NBA Unicorn, and the tallest of his kind too. So it made me think, I made a video last year on why the Unicorn label is the most overrated label in sports, but I think it’s time to go a step further, lets review every NBA Unicorn that has been drafted in the NBA to this point to show why that archetype of player has been downgraded the way it is now before Victor officially becomes a NBA player.
