So recent news says that japan's population of 20 year olds, people that were born in the year 2002 is really low

With a population of only 1.17 Million people that is 600,000 men and 570,000 women which is less than the prior year

Also there are only 1.13 19 year olds

and 1.12 million 18 year olds in Japan

In the next few decades they wont have as many teenagers which is why anime and manga companies are looking to expand to overseas market for new audiences.

finally the age 20 was consider adulthood in japan but now they decreased it to 18 years of age.
