In a world enslaved by an Ayatollah with the mystical power of God, divided into three territories under the control of his theocratic dictatorship, a 12-year-old Ayyan Alli escapes from an arranged marriage with an abusive man and must leave Purgatory in the company of scholars Ibn-Sina and Ibn-Rushd, as the romantic relationship that unites the men becomes public. But only if she agrees to the suicide mission of climbing the Tower of Paradise and murdering the omnipotent God.
