The SolarPuff and SolarHelix, both made by Solight Design, are great little lanterns.  With an integrated solar panel and array of 10 LED lights, they do a great job illuminating your room or a tent, without lugging around batteries.  They fold / twist into shape in seconds for immediate use as well.  Originally designed for disaster relief and places without electricity, they do a great job backpacking, car camping or just at a picnic.
