What is Parallel Compression? // Thicker Vocals in the MIX

I struggled for years trying to figure out how to get vocals to sit in a mix properly. One day I tried parallel compression and everything clicked. The vocals now sat on top of the mix, not in the mix, like a proper vocal should.

In this video I'll explain what parallel compression is, show how it works with A/B comparisons, as well as show you how to build this device yourself.
