No.28 - Work or Starve

Throughout history, the producers of property have been burdened with “common sense” counter-arguments like “but what about the guy who’s old, unable, or unwilling? You can’t just let him starve!” But what is the origin of such common sense?
Could the origin be the same source that told us that killing witches would rid us of the plague, Earth was the center of the universe, and uranium was good for your teeth?
Could there actually be a moral solution to the dilemma of how to care for those who can’t and won’t, a solution that doesn’t involve force or theft?
