When we receive forgiveness we are receiving cleansing. Cleansing from what? The sin we needed forgiveness for. Therefore when we receive the cleansing we are receiving our righteousness restored, which is the right to fullness of fellowship with God. From then on our job is to walk in the Light, which means living in fellowship with God . .
