Unsuspecting fans are watching their favorite cultural figures secure the bag in exchange for their silence. Each celebrity willing to "partner" is not just selling the advertisement they appear in, but likely their future ability to speak negatively about that company or it's products - should they realize something later that they didn't see now.

As a result, they are selling their silence. The advertisement is so overpriced they can't help but see green, and they willingly or unwillingly choose the payday over humanity.

Their influence has a price and we're watching them cash in. Sad part is, you paid for it. Sadder part is, those who avoid this payday will not just miss the "opportunity" but will likely be supressed intentionally due to their unwillingness to sell out.

Greed runs this game and those at the top are interconnected, dollar-driven and vicious. It's hard for us to understand how people can be so fast and loose with human beings, but the greed overcomes their feeble souls and the rest of us experience it downstream. Simple awareness to this ongoing game is one of many ways we can take back our independence.
