Can I beat Base 1 but I can't stop Jumping? - Contra

I go back to playing the classic game Contra and seeing If it can be played but I can't stop Jumping. This is Contra gameplay 1987 NES version. I continue on with Base 1 and timing your shots with every jump is harder than it looks
