This is something that varies, depending on who the personal trainer is, but I talk about my experience with this as I was a manager of personal training in a commercial gym. I want to be transparent with this, as there is a lot of great, personal trainers, a commercial gyms but there’s also a lot of not so great ones. To become a certified personal trainer you don’t really need a certification. Some places won’t even require it for up to three months after starting and that can be concerning because they’re advertised as a certified personal trainer without actually being certified.
