◾Civilians evacuated from Soledar shared with Readovka military commander Grigory Berezetsky their impressions of how they survived during the Ukrainian occupation - though, alas, not everyone managed to survive.

◾“A Ukrainian sniper killed my husband, shot him in the leg and he died within an hour. And we couldn’t bury him, ”said the widow of the murdered civilian Soledar, Elena.

◾Local residents said that they had repeatedly observed how the Ukrainian side, every time Western journalists arrived, carried out self-attacks in order to blame the Russian Armed Forces.
