Professional Baseball's First Black Player

Moses Fleetwood Walker is not a name most baseball fans would recognize. in 1884 — fewer than 20 years after the American Civil War — he did something that wouldn't be done again until Jackie Robinson eventually broke through MLB's segregation rules in 1947 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. "Fleet" Walker was the first Black player who played professional baseball.
