Give Joyously, Receive Joyously – It’s a God Thing – Tuesday Talk – The Hillbilly Kitchen
One of my greatest struggles as a Christian is being a joyous receiver. The gifts of others should be met with the same joy as they are given. While I am always grateful for the love and kindness others show me I somehow feel unworthy or like I am taking something someone else could use. My reluctance may have taken from the joy of the person who offered the gift. My sincere prayer to receive every gift or act of kindness offered to me with joy that will magnify the joy of the giver.
My Bret was a wonder example of joyous receiver. Every gift he was given no matter what it was, was receiver with the joy, wonder, amazement and gratitude of a small child opening their favorite top on Christmas.
Acts 20:35 - I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive
