Why Would They Do This?
A report by the Wall Street Journal sheds new light on how the Department of Justice chose to handle the investigation into classified documents that were found inside of President Joe Biden’s private office at Penn Biden Center on November 2. To sum it up: they didn’t.
After President Biden’s lawyers discovered the classified documents at the think tank, the Justice Department began an inquiry into how they ended up there. The Wall Street Journal exclusive says that as President Biden’s attorneys were getting ready to search his other properties for more top-secret information, they:
"discussed with the Justice Department the prospect of having FBI agents present while Biden’s lawyers conducted additional searches . . . . [T]he two sides agreed that Mr. Biden’s personal attorneys would inspect the homes, notify the Justice Department as soon as they identified any other potentially classified records, and arrange for law-enforcement authorities to take them."
This isn’t the first hypocritical move we’ve seen by the Department of Justice. To me, it seems that they had an opportunity to search (raid) Biden’s homes and said “thanks but no thanks” after a chat with the President’s lawyers.
ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs, former Secretary of State and former CIA Director, Mike Pompeo says that this is unexplainable:
"It is unexplainable how one arrives at the decision that says we’re going to allow private counsel, very unlikely they had the right clearances, conduct on behalf of the President of the United States a search of his home for federal documents. That is a stunning collection of facts that I just whipped through. It is unexplainable. It is deeply inconsistent with how they have treated former President Trump, and most importantly, it is deeply inconsistent with the way we should be handling classified information, and the fact that the DOJ chose not to be part of that . . . . there is, as they used to say on the Lucille Ball show, 'a lot of explaining to do.'"
As we said yesterday:
"This Administration must be held accountable for its lawless and hypocritical behavior . . . . We just filed an expedited FOIA request demanding all records connected to the Biden documents, who knew about them and for how long, and what, if anything is actually being done about it."
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast also includes discussions about a malicious lie Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) is spreading about one of our greatest allies, and the potential impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
