FINALLY! Alec Baldwin Charged with Manslaughter!

On October 21, 2021, actor Alec Baldwin shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins as the two worked together in New Mexico on the set of low-budget western movie "Rust."

On October 25, 2021, only four days after that event, I shared my legal analysis concluding that Baldwin's killing of Hutchins unambiguously qualified as felony reckless involuntary manslaughter under New Mexico law, based on the facts known or believed to exist at the time.

Today, 13 months after I published my legal analysis concluding manslaughter was the appropriate charge, the local New Mexico prosecutor has finally agreed, and announced that Alec Baldwin would face two counts of manslaughter in the death of Hutchins.

Nothing has really changed in my legal analysis from the days immediately following the shooting death of Hutchins, but today's announcement of charges has obviously renewed interest in this case, so in today's show I'll once again cover the legal basis for Alec Baldwin being liable for manslaughter for his killing of Hutchins.
