LASER GUIDED LIGHTNING IS HOPING TO IMPROVE BEN FRANKLIN'S 1752 LIGHTNING ROD

Protection against lightning hasn't improved since 1752 when Ben Franklin invented the lightning rod. Today scientists are trying to change that, by guiding lightning to the ground using laser, so that lightning hits the ground in areas where it will not contribute to the billions of dollars in damage lightning does every year.
