Molds are a type of fungi that can flourish both indoors and outside. There are millions of mold species. It is essential for the planet’s ecosystem because it helps break down waste products and organic matter, such as leaves, dead trees, and garbage. Some people get sick from mold exposure. Others have no symptoms and don’t experience ill effects of any kind.

Mold spores enter our homes, schools, and workplaces through various channels. For example, they may attach themselves to clothing, shoes, and your pet’s coat. Mold may cause health problems in some people but not affect others. Mold exposure symptoms include allergic reactions and respiratory distress. Children and people with compromised immune systems may be particularly vulnerable to mold.
