Malaysian Cheese Naan Recipe

1/2 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
2 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon salt
mozzarella and/or cheddar cheese (i used a combination of both)

- Mix warm water, sugar and yeast in a small bowl and leave it aside for a few minutes until it gets frothy
- Mix the flour, salt and yogurt before adding the yeast mixture bowl
- Knead the dough for approx 20 mins
- Place dough in a greased bowl and cover
- Leave the dough in a warm area for 1-2 hours
(i left mine in my oven that I turned on to the lowest heat and then turned off after 3 mins)
- After dough has risen, cut it up to 8 portions
- Knead dough, and roll it using a rolling pin
- put some cheese in the middle and fold the dough over the cheese
- Knead it back into a ball before rolling it out again
- Brush water on one side of the naan
- Place the wet side of the naan on a thin pan
- After 1-2 mins, flip the pan over the fire to bake the top
(naan should stick to pan. If it falls over, that's okay. Just cook it directly over fire flipping it very frequently. The same happened to a few of mine)
- When it has some nice char on the bread, take it out and brush butter or ghee over it
