The story of One Piece Odyssey does not follow the official chronology, but may be placed before the Whole Cake Island arc. The Straw Hat Pirates (Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Tony Tony Chopper, Nico Robin, Franky and Brook) arrive on a new island in catastrophic ways: their ship is hit by a colossal storm, and washes up on the beach. .

With Franky tasked with repairing the Thousand Sunny, time suffers another depletion, as Brook (his skeleton, in fact) sinks into the sea, he is reduced to a bodiless soul, unable to fight "disembodied", thus, at the beginning Luffy's time is reduced to just 7 members.

The island, called Waford, is populated by wild animals and has several ruins, but the mission is not restricted to it. Right from the start, the group is perfectly supported by a girl named Lim, who, when touching the pirates, removes the memories of their skills and powers, leaving them incredibly flexible (in practice, everyone regresses from level 40 to level 1)
