Matilda the Kangaroo. South of Gympie, Queensland.

The mascot for the 1982 Commonwealth Games can be found at the Puma Traveston Service Centre off the Bruce Highway near Kybong.
I remember watching the opening ceremony on TV in primary school, where Matilda stole the show. (I also recall the outcry when Tasmania was left off the map of Australia during the event).
